*GREETING AND PASSING OF THE PEACE
CALL TO WORSHIP - Based on Psalm 8
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet.
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

  CHILDREN'S PRAYER OF BLESSING
Great God, make your presence, known to these children; live within them and be with them always.  Assure them that you hear their prayers and that you always answer as a caring Father, even though the answer may not be what they expected.  Through every difficulty of life, may they experience your comfort, and your peace.  Amen

The Kinderhook Reformed Church Cemetery is sponsoring a BROOKS BAR-B-CUE again this year from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3, on the front and side lawns of the church. All proceeds will go toward operation and maintenance of the cemetery grounds, which has become an increasingly costly ministry to our community over the years.  BAR-B-CUE reservations may be made by phone by calling 758-9492, or by calling the church office, 758-6401, and leaving your reservation information on either answering machine.  PAYMENT BY CHECK OR BY CASH FOR PHONE RESERVATIONS, WILL BE COLLECTED WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE BAR-B-CUE, AND MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN 5:45 PM THAT DAY.  If you prefer, you may purchase prepaid tickets from Jim Dunham, Gary Leggett, or other representative of the  Cemetery Committee.
As part of the fundraiser, we will also be selling desserts, at a very reasonable price, to enhance the meal.  If you are able to donate baked goods to help supply the dessert menu, please indicate your contribution on the sign-up sheet at the back table.
The Cemetery Committee remembers gratefully your support of last year’s BAR-B-CUE, and is counting on your help in making this important fundraising event a success again this year.

~Invitation to Planning Meeting, Early Morning Worship Service at KRC~
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In our quest to “Know Christ and Make Him Known,” the Kinderhook Reformed Church would like to invite you to prayer and for conversation on beginning an early and more contemporary worship service. The Consistory would like to include you as part of a devoted team who come together in prayer and planning every Sunday at 8:30 am in the Fellowship Room. We believe that with a clear mission, mindset, and much conversation and prayer, we are following our Lord’s lead.
If the Lord is calling you to be part of the formation of this ministry at Kinderhook Reformed Church, please join us.
                                                                         Pastor Rudy and the Consistory

KRC’s share of support is $6,546 this year for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $81.72, UP ONLY 87¢ FROM LAST YEAR!  All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support.  The full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. For those who are able, but have not yet contributed to the assessment, a donation of $5.84 per week for the remaining 14 weeks of this year would meet an individual member’s share. All contributions made for this purpose should be clearly designated, “Classis Assessment.”  MANY THANKS TO THOSE WHO HAVE DONATED A TOTAL OF $2,149 TO DATE TO HELP DEFRAY THIS EXPENSE.
