   Welcome and Announcements

   God's Greeting

   Call to Worship  (Responsive)  Adapted from Psalm 95:6

As we come into the house of the LORD today, let us do so with reverence.

          Let us recognize the greatness and glory of the One we worship.

Let us celebrate that we can come just as we are, and yet, let us come before Him with humility, for it is no small thing to worship the LORD our God.

              Let us worship in gratitude and awe. "Come, let us bow down in               worship.  Let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker."

*Hymn of Praise #53                                                     Let All Things Now Living

Turning Our Hearts to God

  Call to Confession  Based on Hebrews 4:15-16

Our High Priest, Jesus Christ, knows all our weaknesses, and can sympathize, because he was tested in every way we are, only without sinning. So let’s come boldly to the throne of grace, where we can find mercy and grace to help when we need it most.

  Prayer of Confession  (Unison)

Dear Heavenly Father, we lower our heads before you, and we confess that we have too often forgotten that we are yours. So easily we carry on our lives as if you do not exist and so fall short of being credible witnesses to you. We confess that our pride and stubbornness reveals our mistrust of both your goodness and your love and desires for us.

[Quiet personal confession]

Grant us your mercy, we pray.

Restore us and our relationship with you, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

   Assurance of Pardon  (Responsive)

The word of the Lord is trustworthy and sure: When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us. We are made new creatures in Christ.

             In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Hallelujah! Amen.

   Praise Songs

   Children’s Sermon and Blessing  (Unison)

Loving Father, transform our children into the likeness of your living Son, Jesus Christ. Guard them from the evils of this world, and renew them day by day.  Bring them ever closer to Christ’s perfection, and clothe them in his righteousness.   Amen.

           Allowing God to Shape Us

   Prayer for Illumination

   Scripture Lesson                                        Zechariah 14:20-21 and Luke 5:1-5

   Message                                                             “Holy and Purposefully God's”

   Prayer of Blessing

Giving Ourselves for God's Glory

   Presentation of Our Tithes and Offering / Offertory

*Doxology, #809, and Offertory Prayer

   Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him all creatures here below;

   praise him above, ye heavenly host: praise Father, Son, & Holy Ghost.  Amen.

  Offertory Prayer

  Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s Prayer

*Closing Hymn #262                                                        Rejoice, the Lord is King

*Benediction

*Hymn of Response                                   My Friends, May You Grow in Grace

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory, now and forever, now and forever, amen. (2x)

~IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM KRC SUNDAY SCHOOL COORDINATORS~

Dear Friends in Christ,

     As you know, our Children’s Sunday School group is growing.  Due to increased enrollment, we find our rooms in need of a few improvements.   With the flooding of the basement nearly every year, we’ve lost all the rugs in the nursery and Sunday School rooms. The heat on that side of our basement is under-floor heating, and over the years it has stopped working in some areas. Where the heat is working, the rooms heat up only 8 degrees for every 6 hours, which means that some mornings we truly are freezing down there.  We've decided to let everyone know that we are in need of support to defray the cost of expenses accrued during February of this year, and we’ll appreciate any help however small!  For donations toward the expense of any of the following, please specify that they are for “Sunday School”:

New rug for the Sunday school room ($35)
Two portable infrared heaters in the Sunday school rooms ($130 each)
Smaller infrared heater for the Nursery ($40)
Bible bags for the senior group who received Bibles recently ($8 each) x10
To sponsor a Bible for ($20 each) x16
Boxes of tissues and rolls of paper towels are needed throughout the year!

     Matthew & Tina Zawisza of The Living Gospel Ministry are a husband and wife, full-time, traveling ministry team based in New York State’s Capital Region.  Specializing in Living Sermons, it is the goal of their ministry, now in its 6th year, to present God’s Word in a unique way and with a new perspective absolutely necessary for today’s world. The eyes remember more than the ears. Jesus knew this, and often revealed the truth of his Word through highly-visual and dramatic parables.  In a Living Sermon, the Word is not only heard, but also seen & felt.

     What are Living Sermons?  They are personalities from the Bible invited to your church as guest speakers. What would it be like if the apostle Peter spoke directly to a congregation about his denial of Christ? What about John describing the events of the Cross?  Matthew and Tina believe their call is to edify one another and fellow believers through the teaching of the Word of God, which is the number one priority when it comes to the assembling of the Church; and they believe there is no better way to do this than by hearing, seeing, experiencing, and feeling the Word’s power & truth.  Over the 6 years of their full-time ministry, Matthew & Tina have seen God do some amazing things.

     “We feel blessed and humbled to be invited to your church next Sunday, May 12, to present The Living Sermon, “Peter”, especially adapted for Mothers Day as part of your worship.  From the very beginning we have been a faith-based ministry, which means we do not charge a fee, but accept only love offerings.”

~~~~~~~~
PLEASE NOTE:
In addition to our regular Sunday offering next Sunday, May 12, a separate love offering will be taken in support of The Living Gospel Ministry.
Sunday School students will remain in the sanctuary next Sunday for The Living Sermon, “Peter”.
~~~~~~~

“I highly recommend to your church Matthew and Tina Zawisza and the Living Gospel Ministry.  They have the hearts of servants and are wonderful to work with, and we were far more than pleased with their dramatic presentation.  As a Christian artist, I know that the greatest compliment someone can give is not about the performer or the performance, but about how God’s Spirit touched them and moved them deep in their heart.  This is what many in our congregation, including myself, experienced through Matthew’s presentation.”

                                                 Rev. Gary Rushing, Faith Church Fort Myers, Florida

~A  MESSAGE FROM COMMUNITY HOSPICE OF COLUMBIA/GREENE COUNTIES~

     Our semi-annual training for new Hospice volunteers will begin in May. Through Hospice, volunteers provide support to patients and families during the process of dying and grieving. Those who choose not to be with patients assist with other duties.

     Over the years it has become evident that the majority of our volunteers have come from area churches and synagogues.  Thank you for your ongoing support in bringing this message to potential volunteers who can help us continue to make a difference in so many lives. Please pick up a flyer from the back table; call Patty PerrelIa, Coordinator of Volunteer Services, at 943-5425, Ext 110; or see Maureen Mooney or Patrice Lyons for information on training to become a Hospice volunteer.
