Turning Our Hearts to God
Call to Confession
The Lord is a good and faithful God, yet we doubt and question God’s plans and intentions toward us. Let us confess our sins, that we might be reconciled to Christ and one another.
Prayer Of Confession (Unison)
Merciful Savior, we confess that what we say we believe, and the beliefs our lives profess, frequently aren’t the same. We say that You are good, yet we’re quick to blame You when discomfort, turmoil or distress arises. We say that You love us, but we act as if Your will for our lives cannot be trusted. We proclaim that we are forgiven, yet we continue to carry the burdensome baggage of our past. We profess that You are a faithful God, yet we’re riddled with anxiety, fear, and impatience. Forgive us, Lord. Give us the courage to look honestly at the disparity between what we say we believe and the truth that our actions and attitudes tell. We pray for the grace to close the gap between the two. Amen.

~2014 CONCERTS IN THE VILLAGE ~
SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 3:00 P.M.
The third offering in the 2013-2014 Concerts in the Village series will be "Henry Purcell Sacred and Secular: Home, Church and Dramatic Music of the Early Baroque in England.” Featured will be the Broad Street Chorale, soloists Amanda Boyd, Jon Morrell and others, and orchestra. This program will include a concert performance of Dido and Aeneas, the first important opera in the English language, as well as instrumental and solo vocal music.

The Outreach Ministry wishes to thank to all of the chefs, servers, and cleanup volunteers who participated at the recent outreach dinner at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. It was a great success as we served 139 people from the community. We were truly blessed to experience the warmth of ecumenical fellowship while serving the Lord.

In March the Visser family will be heading to the warm and sunny southern states for vacation. The consistory would like the Vissers’ vacation to be a stress-free family trip full of memories to last a lifetime. We feel the Lord is leading us to bless our Pastor and his family and to truly say thank you for all they do each and every day. We realize many of you already bless the family regularly and have helped out in the past as needs have arisen. We simply ask that you prayerfully consider this opportunity to bless our Pastor and his family.

~WEE CARE – A NEW MINISTRY~
Wee Care is a new ministry providing mothers in need with receiving blankets and infant clothing. You are invited to a Wee Care Sewing Day, 1 – 3 pm Saturday, March 22, here in the KRC Fellowship Room. Come with your sewing machine and two or more yards of flannel and help us sew! Assistance and refreshments will be on hand.
UPDATE FROM PROPERTY MINISTRY
Property Ministry at the present time is made up of Patrice Lyons - Chairperson, Dawn Van Buren - Secretary, Gary Leggett - Treasurer, Alan Dick, Paul Zietsman and Barbara Vosburgh - Liaison to the Consistory. It is our intention to spend some time getting rid of much of the accumulation of years found in all parts of the building. Last week we opened the boiler room for an inspection by a man from the insurance company and found all the paper, cardboard and wooden signs from many events stacked along one of its walls. No combustibles should be in that room and we pulled them all out into the foyer downstairs. We ask each ministry to find someone who will take the signs it uses home to be stored there. With ALL materials please adopt the policy, If you carry it in, carry it out. Thank you in helping us to clean things up.
Matthew and Tina Zawisza of The Living Gospel Ministry have blessed KRC several times with Matthew’s moving portrayals of the Biblical characters Barabbas, Peter, and Joseph. Recent major repairs on the vehicles they depend on to carry out their ministry, together with a decrease in the number of engagements they have been able to book, have taken a serious financial toll on Matthew and Tina and their work. KRC has been asked to prayerfully consider offering some financial support at this difficult time to this talented and dedicated couple and The Living Gospel Ministry. Donations may be sent to Matthew and Tina at 939 Norwood Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12303.
Two of the three pianos in the Sunday School classrooms, plus the electronic organ in the handicap ramp entranceway, are free-for-the- taking to anyone who would like to make use of them or who knows of someone who would. Although it has some issues, the organ is playable, and the pianos, which mainly need to be tuned, would make good practice instruments for beginning piano students. If interested, please contact Patti Varga.
KRC’s share of support this year is $5,728.14 for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $86.79. All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support. The full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. If offered weekly, that’s just over $2 per week. All contributions made for this purpose should be designated, “Classis Assessment.”

~A FRIENDLY REMINDER ABOUT PEW CARDS~
Just a note to remind parents to keep their children from writing on or tearing the visitors’ cards and the prayer and announcement cards found in the slots on the back of each pew. The visitors’ cards are purchased from a professional printer, and are expensive to replace. Please have your children make use of the writing and coloring materials available especially for them in the back of the sanctuary. Your attention to this request will be greatly appreciated.
