  Welcome and Announcements

           We Approach God

  Call to Worship  (Responsive) - From Psalm 91

Leader:  Those who live in the shelter of the Most High,

who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord,

     People:  My refuge and my fortress; my God in whom I trust.

Leader:  Those who love me, I will deliver, says the Lord.

     People:  I will protect those who know my name.

Leader:  When they call to me I will answer them,

I will be with them in trouble.

     People:  I will rescue them and honor them, and show them my salvation.

*Hymn of Praise #60                                                                     Great Is Thy Faithfulness

*Prayer for Our Worship  (Unison)

Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.

  Call to Confession  (Unison)

Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love you, and worthily magnify your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

   Prayer of Confession

Minister:  Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.

People:  Holy God, you have called us to follow in the way of your risen  Son, and to care for those who are our companions, not only with words of comfort, but with acts of love.  Help us to be true friends of all in this   world Christ loved so much he died for. You walk behind, beside, beyond; you shepherd us. Forgive and restore us. Break through the disillusionment and despair clouding our vision, so that, with wonder at your mercy and love, we may find our way and journey on as messengers of your good news.  Amen.

[Time for personal prayer and confession]

   Words of Hope and Assurance

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.  John 3:16-17

Believe this Gospel and go forth to live in peace.    Amen.

   Children’s Sermon and  *Prayer of Blessing  (Unison)  (10 am Worship)

Father, bless these children with all the spiritual blessings they have in Christ Jesus, especially your measureless love, and may they love you and one another with the same unconditional love. Amen.

   Law of God - Ephesians 4:32-5:2

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

*Passing of the Peace

The Peace of Christ be with you

     And also with you!

   Prayer for illumination

   Scripture                                                                                  John 13:31-35 (p. 763)

This is the Word of the Lord.

     Thanks be to God!

   Message                                                                        “They’ll Know by Our Love”

We Respond to God’s Word

   Prayer of Saint Francis  (Unison)

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,

Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,

grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;

to be understood, as to understand;  to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive. It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.  Amen.

   Giving of Our Gifts, Tithes, and Offerings

   Offertory (10 am Worship)  Jesus Christ, our Blessed Savior, BuxWV 198  D. Buxtehude

   Prayer of Blessing  (Unison)

Heavenly Father, with glad and eager hearts we lay our offerings before you. Sanctify them for the purposes of bringing honor and glory to the name and Gospel of Christ, and increase to his kingdom.  Amen.

*Doxology, #809

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; praise him all creatures here below;

      praise him above, ye heavenly host: praise Father, Son, & Holy Ghost.  Amen.

  Sharing Our Joys and Concerns

  Pastoral Prayer and The Lord's Prayer

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

*Hymn of Response #593                                                                            The Gift of Love

*Benediction

*Hymn of Response                                         My Friends, May You Grow in Grace

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior.

My friends, may you grow in grace, and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory, now and forever, now and forever, amen. (2x)

  Postlude (10 am Worship)     Now praise, my soul, the Lord, BuxWV 214    D. Buxtehude

SONWEST ROUNDUP

A RIP-ROARING GOOD TIME WITH JESUS!

VBS will run at KRC BEGINNING TOMORROW, June 24, through 28, 9 am to Noon, with arrival and sign-in at 8:45 to 9 am daily, and all kids of our community ages Pre-K (3 and potty-trained) through Grade 6 are invited to this year’s fun and spiritually-nurturing program.  Forms are available on the back table for pre-registering your children or grandchildren, or you may pre-register by calling the church office, 758-6401, or 859-4158. Registration forms are also available at the Muitzeskill Reformed Church and the Cross Eyed Owl Gift Shop.  Please return completed registrations to one of the churches or the gift shop as soon as possible.   You may also return registrations to KRC on the day VBS starts, but if you choose this option, please let us know in advance via email (or patvarga@aol.com) so that we'll be prepared to meet the needs of all children attending.

KRC’s share of support is $5,788 this year for services and resources to be provided for us by the Reformed Church in America at the local, regional, and national levels. EACH MEMBER’S SHARE OF THIS YEAR’S CLASSIS ASSESSMENT HAS BEEN SET AT $85.12 (up $3.40 from last year).  All who are able to do so are encouraged to offer, over and above regular giving, their share of this support.  The full share does not have to be given at one time, but may be given in as many increments as are convenient. For those who are able, a donation of $3.15 per week for the remaining 27 weeks of this year would meet an individual member’s share. All contributions made for this purpose should be clearly designated, “Classis Assessment.”

Many KRC family and friends have, in the past, provided cut flowers for the pulpit in celebration of an anniversary or birthday, in honor of a special day or event, and in loving memory of family and friends who have passed away.  During the summer months, those of you who are gardeners are invited to arrange and display your own garden flowers on a Sunday of your choice.  If you are interested in providing flowers for a particular Sunday, please contact Dawn, 758-7564.

"THE OLDE DUTCH AND SUCH" CRAFTS GROUP MEETS ON FRIDAYS AT 9:30 A.M. in the main floor classroom opposite the church office. We are creating new plans and new items for the 2013 KRC Bazaar, and we are very much in need of new members and new ideas.  Last year’s preparation workshops were full of fun, laughter, and good fellowship, and the bazaar was a huge success.  We warmly welcome you to join us in our efforts to make this year’s even better!

The KRC Cemetery Committee is pleased to announce the opening of Kinderhook Cemetery’s COLUMBARIUM, a portion of the cemetery specifically designed for cremation burials.  If you would like more information, please speak to Greg Clause, cemetery supervisor, or Jim Dunham, Cemetery Committee chairperson.
